2008 Apex/Holly Springs Area CROP Walk
**To join the 2008 CROP Steering Commitee, please contact Rebecca Spell - email: info@wwcm.org - Meetings will begin in early September.
WHAT: This annual community walkathon stands for “Communities Reaching Out to People”. Working in partnership with local organizations in more than 80 countries, CWS supports sustainable self-help development, meets emergency needs (including hurricane relief), aids refugees, and helps address the root causes of poverty and powerlessness, without regard to religion, race or ethnicity. The Apex/Holly Springs Area CROP Walk is a community-wide effort with participation from schools, religious groups, businesses, clubs and many caring individuals. Last year over 300 walkers and their sponsors raised $6,205.60 to fight hunger. Of that, $1,551.40 stayed right here in our local community.
