Thanksgiving Meal Drive for Western Wake Crisis Ministry
Thanksgiving meals will be collected and distributed to 250 needy families in our area this holiday season.
Please use the following list of foods when purchasing your holiday dinner and place them in a bag or small box. This will allow for easy transportation and storage of the dinners until the pick-up day, and will be a convenient way for our clients to bring their dinners home. Place any refrigerated items toward the top of the box, tied in a plastic bag. We will collect Thanksgiving meals at the WWCM office BACK entrance from 8 am until 1 pm on Sunday, November 22nd. Your church may also have a specific meal collection point at the church on these dates, please ask us if you are unsure.
Please place the following items inside a bag or small box:
1 large package stuffing mix
1 dry box dinner rolls or cornbread mix
1 can cranberries
1 box pie pastry mix
2 cans vegetables (green beans, corn, peas)
1 can pie fruit filling
1 large can sweet potatoes
1 large box dry potatoes
1 bag (3 lb) onions
1 bag (3 lb) of apples or oranges
Please place items in plastic bags and place on top of box or bag:
1 lb. butter or margarine
1 dozen eggs
A 10-12 pound turkey or pay $10 toward the purchase of a turkey (see instructions below)
The total cost of the items should be around $40. Cash donations are also welcome. Checks for meals can be made payable to Western Wake Crisis Ministry, 103 E Chatham Street, Apex, NC 27502. Thank you for your kind support in helping to make this a special holiday for our neighbors in need!
******************* $10 Turkey Purchase Instructions *****************
Instead of you having to go to the grocery store, buy a turkey, haul it home, make room for it in your freezer and then haul it to church, all you need to do is return $10 (cash or check) in the attached envelope along with the other grocery items. WWCM will do the rest to ensure clients get to enjoy their holiday turkey.
